CHEF MARCELA RAMÍREZ BIOGRAPHY

Chef Marcela Lizeth Ramírez Ruiz is the creative soul in the kitchen at Parrotfish Punta de Mita. Born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Marcela embarked on her culinary journey at the age of 17 when she left home to forge a new life in Puerto Vallarta.

Over the next 16 years, she built an impeccable career in the Riviera Nayarit hotel industry. At 33, her talents took her to the esteemed position of Sous Chef at Marival Distinct, where she shared the kitchen with renowned Executive Chef Alfredo Jiménez Arrizon of the Marival Group.

“I chose to learn cooking because I’m passionate about creating dishes and evoking emotions, bringing back old memories or creating new ones for guests,” Marcela says. “For me, cooking and serving flavors, colors, and textures is an act of love.”

Chef Marcela’s unique culinary style seamlessly blends Asian and Mexican spices, with a special fondness for clove, anise, and cinnamon. Her favorite ingredients to incorporate into her dishes are the aromatic coconut sprouts and fragrant rose-apple. Through her creations, she celebrates tradition while infusing her own personal touch, ensuring a memorable dining experience for every guest.
